About this policy
This policy covers Modes Media Player, a Zynx app for organising and playing media locally on your device.
Effective date: 19 September 2026.
Data collection
The developer does not collect personal data from Modes Media Player. The app does not send your library or usage data to the developer. It has no advertising, analytics, tracking technology or third-party software development kits. No account is required.
Media and library information
Media is accessed when you select or share files with the app. Imported audio and video, track titles, custom artwork, mode and playlist information, colours, ordering, background preferences, clip definitions and saved playback positions are stored locally.
The app uses its private storage and private App Group container for imports between the app and its Share Extension. It does not transmit your library to the developer or a developer-hosted cloud service.
Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets use a local snapshot of mode names, artwork, colours, counts and the last opened track. This is shared privately between the app and its widget extension on your device.
On-device transcription
On supported iPhones and iPads running iOS 26, Modes Media Player can generate a transcript of an audio or video recording using Apple’s on-device speech recognition. The recording is processed on your device and is never sent to the developer or to Apple. Generating a transcript may download a language model from Apple to your device. You can correct, save, copy, share or delete a transcript at any time.
On-device summaries and highlights
On supported iPhones and iPads running iOS 26 with Apple Intelligence turned on, Modes Media Player can summarise a saved transcript and suggest highlight clips using Apple’s on-device Foundation Models framework. The transcript is processed entirely on your device. It is not sent to the developer, to a cloud AI service or to any other third party, and Modes uses no server-side model. Summaries are stored with the track or clip in your local library and are included in a .modes file only when you share that track, playlist, mode or backup. You can edit or delete a summary at any time.
Place names
When a recording’s file already contains location coordinates, Track Details can show a place name for it. Modes Media Player looks up that name using Apple’s geocoding service and the coordinates already stored in the file. It does not request or use your device’s current location.
Exports and sharing
You can choose to export media, a playlist, a mode or a library backup using Apple’s system share sheet. Mode and playlist archives can include media and the artwork, names, colours and arrangement you created. A full backup also includes saved playback positions and clip definitions.
The destination you choose controls any exported copy. Sharing through another app or file provider is subject to that service’s data practices. Review a collection before sending it if its recordings, titles or artwork contain personal information.
Tips
Modes Media Player offers an optional tip in Settings → Support. It is handled entirely by the App Store: Apple processes the payment, and Modes does not store payment details or receipts. A tip unlocks no feature and is not a subscription.
Deleting local media
Deleting a media item removes the app-owned copy after confirmation. Removing a mode or playlist does not delete its media files. Files without a mode remain in Unassigned.
Modes Media Player has no online account or developer-hosted library to delete. Copies you have exported elsewhere are managed in the destination you selected.
iCloud Drive and other file providers
When you select files through Apple’s document picker, iOS and the selected provider control access. Modes Media Player does not receive credentials for your iCloud Drive or other file-provider accounts. A provider may require a connection to download a file before importing.
Children’s privacy
Modes Media Player does not collect personal data, including personal data from children. Families choose the media they import and any collections they share.
Support and policy updates
For privacy questions, email support@zynx.com.au. Information you choose to send in a support message is separate from the local library described here. Do not send passwords, payment details or sensitive media files.
This policy may be updated if the app’s functionality or data practices change. Its effective date will be updated when changes are published.
