Return to saved filters and sorting without rebuilding your search.

Save a search and its filters as a View. Each View remembers its own sorting and hidden items, while matching media stays live as the library changes. Keep separate Views for a project, a favourite subject or your next review.

  • Saved Views with reusable search, filters and sorting.
  • Independent hidden items for each View.

Make time for the media that needs attention.

Find gaps in your library information and organise related media together.

Use the organisation overview to find missing tags, categories and keywords. Select related assets, apply bulk changes and keep the collection useful as it grows. Recoverable Trash and library backups support everyday housekeeping.

  • Colour-coded tags, tag categories and media types.
  • Metadata coverage filters and bulk organisation.

Export originals, save or share a selection, and create video loops or audio clips for your next project. RAW-to-JPEG export gives you another way to use supported camera files; RAW compatibility follows macOS.

Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I organise photos, videos and audio scattered across folders?
Bring them into one local media library. Browse the mosaic, add descriptive tags and use media types and filters to narrow your collection. Save a useful combination as a View so you can return to it later.
Can I find an image without remembering its filename?
Search filenames, notes, source metadata and image keywords. Pxl Pool can generate image keywords locally with Apple Vision, and you can edit keywords yourself. Optional Apple Intelligence assistance requires macOS 26 or later and an eligible Mac with Apple Intelligence available. Generated labels can be imperfect; they do not identify people by name.
What does a saved View remember?
A View remembers your search, filters, sorting and hidden items. It shows media that matches those rules, including new matches as your library grows. Create different Views for different projects or review tasks, then update or reset them as your workflow changes.
Can I browse images, preview videos and listen to audio in one place?
Yes. Images, video and audio share the same library, with larger previews, media playback and filters for each kind of file. Play clips in the mosaic or open an individual item for a closer look.
Can I keep my media on my Mac or an external drive?
Yes. Your library and original media can stay on your Mac or an external drive. Keep the drive connected while using its library, and keep a separate backup. Encrypted pool creation remains an experimental option that is not enabled in the standard beta.
How can I see which media still needs organising?
The organisation overview shows gaps in tags, categories, keywords and other library information. Choose a group to review matching items, then use selection tools to work on several assets together. Notes are optional, and automatic keyword generation applies to images.
How do I take media into another creative app?
Export originals, save or share selected media, or make video loops and audio clips. RAW images also offer Export as JPEG; supported RAW formats depend on macOS. Exporting an original keeps the stored original file available in your library.
Which Macs can use the private beta?
The current beta is for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 13 or later. Some media processing needs separately installed tools, and Apple Intelligence assistance has additional requirements. Request beta access below; accepted testers receive an invitation and activation details. A valid activation is required to open the library.
